¡¡Bexsero ya por la Seguridad Social!!

Ayer tuvimos una noticia estupenda desde la Consejería de Salud y Familias de la Junta de la Junta de Andalucía: 

Abro comillas, redoble, campanas…:

A partir de diciembre de este año, para los niños residentes en Andalucía, el calendario Vacunal de Andalucía incluirá la vacuna contra el meningococo B (Bexsero).

¿Cómo? ¡Qué bien!, ¿no? ¿Pero hay letra pequeña?

Pues la letra pequeña es que se beneficiarán de esta medida sólo los lactantes que hayan nacido a partir del 1 de octubre de 2021.

Para el resto de los lactantes el coste de la vacuna corre a cuenta del bolsillo de las familias.

Digo que es una noticia estupenda porque supondrá un gran ahorro para todas las familias ya que hasta ahora sólo el 55% de los niños pequeños se estaban vacunando en Andalucía con esta vacuna, debido fundamentalmente a que no estaba financiada por la Seguridad Social.

Se estima que podrán beneficiarse de esta vacuna unos 65.000 niños andaluces al año

Y, ¿cuál será la pauta?

La pauta será de 3 dosis:  a los 2 meses, 4 meses y 15 meses. 

Pero, ¿es recomendable vacunar a los bebés con esta vacuna?

Pues claro la enfermedad invasiva por meningococo B es una de las enfermedades más temida por los pediatras. Aunque ya hablé más detenidamente sobre esto en este post sólo recordaré que esta enfermedad es mucho más frecuente y de peor pronóstico en niños menores de 2-3 años, seguidos de los adolescentes, pero puede ocurrir a cualquier edad. Aproximadamente el 10% de los niños que padecen una infección por este germen fallecen y aproximadamente un 30% queda con secuelas graves permanentes (ceguera, sordera, amputación de miembros, convulsiones …)

¡Vaya lío! ¿Pero mi hijo no estaba ya vacunado para la meningitis? ¿Cuántos tipos de meningitis existen?

Bueno, resumiendo y para no liaros más: 

La Junta de Andalucía ha decidido introducir la vacunación contra el meningococo B en el calendario vacunal de los niños residentes de Andalucía, con una pauta de 3 dosis, a los 2 meses, 4 meses y 15 meses. Se comenzará a inocular a partir de diciembre de este año en los lactantes que hayan nacido a partir del 1 de octubre de 2021.

Yo vivo en Andalucía, mi hijo nació el 09/09/21 y según nos dijo la pediatra la vacuna se la teníamos que poner a los 5 meses, 7 meses y 14 meses, siempre en meses que no coincida con una vacuna de calendario obligatorio de vacunas, entonces mi hijo no tiene derecho a ponerse la vacuna gratuita? No lo entiendo muy bien la verdad…. muchas gracias por la información!

  2. Hola! Mi hija nació en agosto 2021 y entiendo que la 1ª dosis de la Bexero no sea gratuita ya que es para los niños nacidos a partir del 01/10. Pero ¿El retos de dosis, la 2ª y la 3ª, sabéis si también tendría que pagarlas o serían gratuitas? Gracias!!

  3. parece ser que los que tengamos hijos nacidos en agosto o meses anteriores al uno de octubre, vamos a quedar excluidos y tendremos que pagar, aqui las mentes pensantes han decidido discriminar a esos niños para ahorrarse un mero puñado de euros, para mi unos sinvergüenzas, porque si una vacuna se financia por la seguridad social, deberia de ser por igual para todos. de todas formas animo a que reclameis, yo reclame hace dos meses y aun no se han dignado a responderme. mucho bombo mucho bombo en los titulares, pero luego ponen letrita pequeña.

  4. No entiendo como para unos si son gratis las vacunas de meningitis y para otros no, solo por haber nacido unos meses atrás y habiéndome gastado ya en las vacunas 300 euros y encima ahora que son gratis no quieren ponerle la última dosis a mi niña
