¡Un gran abrazo queda pendiente!

Estos días que corren son duros. Nos hayamos en medio de una desgracia social y con la peor de las sensaciones, la de saber que esto aún tiene que empeorar.

Se hace difícil vivir con la sensación contraria de quien juega al bingo. El deseo que cada bola que sale no coincida con los números de tu cartón. El deseo de ver las cifras de afectados como cifras, de no tener que ponerle cara a esos números.

Es por eso que quiero abrazar fuertemente a los sanitarios que sí ponen cara a cada número. Se hace difícil y muy duro volver a casa dejando atrás estas situaciones. Volver a casa sabiendo que las cifras que ves en el telediario no son cifras, son personas. Cada una con una historia detrás.

Pienso que talla humana de una sociedad se mide por la capacidad de cuidar a sus mayores. Demostraremos que somos un país muy grande si somos capaces de protegerlos a ellos.

Para mi, desde que fui padre, el día del padre es el día de los abuelos.

Los abuelos. Los padres de los padres. Los padres de las madres.

Pilares que sostienen las familias, sobre todo emocionalmente. Y son capaces de sostenerlas incluso cuando ya no están con nosotros. 

Seres entrañables

El abuelo es la voz sabia. El “padre” que malcría. El “padre” que, con la sabiduría que dan el paso de los años y el haber vivido ya muchas situaciones, sabe relativizar las cosas y sólo darle importancia a las cosas que realmente la tienen. Son capaces de hacerse cargo de cualquier situación por complicada que parezca. Ellos lo hacen todo mucha más fácil.

Por otro lado, estos días de aislamiento social nos están enseñando mucho. Nos están enseñando, sobre todo, que teníamos mucho más de que pensábamos. Teníamos la posibilidad de pasear, de salir a tomar un café o una copa con los amigos, de salir al parque con nuestros niños o visitar sin problema a nuestros abuelos. Nos están enseñando que la vida se compone básicamente de la suma de los pequeños placeres cotidianos diarios. Y nos están enseñando que cada día debe ser vivido como si fuera el último porque, sin avisar, aparecen situaciones que así nos lo demuestran. La vida cambia en un instante y debemos estar preparados siempre para ello.

Así que te digo, si estas leyendo esto, que descuelgues rápido el teléfono y le digas a tu padre cuánto lo quieres y cuánto lo estas echando de menos estos días. Si ya no está físicamente con nosotros sabes que puedes decírselo igualmente, él te está escuchando.
